Kristina-Monique Cortez is a professional Makeup-Artist and curriculum creator of Make-up Artistry Programs out of California. At an early age, she had a profound sense that make-up enhanced beauty and she was entranced by the make-up she saw in movies, editorials and theatre. Coupled with a passion for art this lead to her highly successful career as a make-up artist, bicoastal educator and international artist, where uncovering the beauty of others is something that gives her great joy and enables her to continuously grow.
Throughout her career, Kristina-Monique has worked with industry gianst such as MAC, Temptu, MUD and Sebastian's professional make-up line, Trucco. Other professional environments she has lent her talent to include independent films such as Southern Question, Harsh Weather Sweepstakes and Just Desserts, promotional work for production companies such as Paramount Pictures, Colombia Pictures and Fox, lead Makeup Artist for Fashion week San Diego and an artist for Los Angeles Fashion Week. Music videos for the likes of Brooklyn Haley, ADLE-D-AP from the Black Eyed Peas and a number of fashion labels such as Rock and Republic, Ximena Valera, Andre Soriano, Dexter and Goga by Project Runway prodogy,Gordana Gehlhausen. Her work and expertise have also appeared in Allure, Salon International-Mexico, G.O.O.D.S., Institute magazine, PurseBuzz.com and other high-profile editorial channels.
Wanting to remain a part of the progressive approach to education, she helped create the first-ever Make-up Program in the San Diego area. As Make-up Director it allowed her to motivate aspiring artists to embrace both the creative and business aspects of the make-up industry. She has inspired thousands of students under the philosophy that make-up artistry is the gateway to making others see themselves from a more positive enhanced perspective.
As she continued her journey over the years she created various curriculums for online education and in school education. Loving the educational aspect of the beauty industry she found an interest in educating herself in microblading, an extension of makeup artistry using semi permanent pigment and a blading technique. Once starting the permanent makeup journey she has now taken her education to another level by offering scar camouflage, inkless scar camouflage and areola restoration. Wanting to help those who have survived trauma through wounds and scarring this was the perfect fit for her.
